FAQ

What accessories we need to prepare in advance?

A. Tripod, Camera mount and USB to Ethernet Adapter. These are not included in the product. Here are some recommendation for your choice.

Should we use MOVIN TRACIN with a tripod?

A. The height is important for motion quality. To set the exact height, we highly recommend using a tripod. MOVIN TRACIN should never be moved, and for this purpose, a tripod is very helpful.

Do I need to purchase a paid license(MOVIN Studio Unlimited)?

A. Nope. If you get MOVIN TRACIN, the MOVIN Studio (desktop app) is free or charge for Starter plan. You can still capture your motion for 30 minutes with the free Starter plan.

What's the difference between Unlimited plan & Perpetual package?

A. The Unlimited License updates with every new feature, while the Perpetual package does not.

What is the power consumption of the product?

A. About 60Wh. Pretty low, actually!

Is a Wi-Fi or internet connection required?

A. It’s required only for the first login to activate the license. After that, you can use the product offline without an internet connection.

Can I use it outdoors? What if there’s a lot of light around?

A. Yes! Since MOVIN TRACIN uses LiDAR, it works reliably outdoors, in low-light environments, and even in bright lighting conditions.

 Is the LiDAR used in MOVIN TRACIN safe for humans? Could it be harmful to the eyes or skin?

A. Yes, it’s safe. MOVIN TRACIN uses the Hesai JT128 LiDAR (905nm), which is commonly used in service robots and industrial devices for its proven safety.

Our LiDAR is certified as “Class 1 Eye-Safe” under the IEC 60825-1 standard, meaning it poses no risk to the eyes or skin during normal use.

Does MOVIN TRACIN support multi-person or finger motion capture?

A. Currently, only single-person motion capture is supported.

Finger motion capture is possible by using compatible third-party gloves, which are already integrated with our app.

Exciting news — native finger and wrist capture will be available with our own device in October! And yes, multi-person capture is planned for release by the end of this year. Stay tuned!

Is the price the same for all countries?

A. Yes, the price is a global price. You can convert it to your local currency when you pay.

LiDAR Safety : We aim for customer satisfaction and may honor return or refund requests in accordance with applicable law and our internal policies.  Unless otherwise required by law, all sales are final. For defective items covered under warranty, a return or exchange may be offered subject to verification and within the warranty period.
We Use the Hesai JT128, 905nm LiDAR, which operates at a 905nm wavelength and is intended for short-range detection up to 30 meters. This wavelength is widely used in service robots, vacuums, and industrial automation due to its proven safety and reliability. All commercial LiDARs, including ours, are certified as “CLASS 1 EYE-SAFE” under IEC 60825-1 standards. This means the product does not pose a hazard to the human eye or skin during normal use. In contrast, 1550nm LiDARs—used in long-range or autonomous vehicle systems—can operate at higher power levels and may present risks if not properly controlled. The 905nm class operates under stricter power limits, making it better suited for safe, general-purpose robotics.
3. Privacy Issue : Our products include built-in LiDAR and camera sensors. MOVIN DOES NOT STORE, TRANSMIT, OR UPLOAD ANY VIDEO OR SENSOR DATA TO ITS SERVERS. All visual and depth data remain solely on your local device or secure environment. Users retain full control of their data. MOVIN is committed to safeguarding your privacy and complying with applicable laws.
